Background
UBXN7 also has RNA polymerase II-specific DNA-binding transcription factor binding activity and ubiquitin protein ligase binding activity (2). Studies have shown that UBXN7 plays a role in the reciprocal regulation of NRF2 and HIF-1α, which are crucial transcription factors involved in cellular stress responses (3). Cell stress is one of the Hallmarks of Cancer (Weinberg and Hanahan, 2001), and designing reagents to ameliorate cell stress by targeting specific proteins to the ubiquitin system is an attractive possibility. Research has also revealed UBXN7's involvement in replisome disassembly during S-phase of the cell cycle (4). This link to DNA replication makes UBXN7 of interest to those studying cell proliferation.
Modulation of protein levels in cancer cells is of interest in the pharmaceutical space. UBXN7 is a modulator of protein levels via the ubiquitin pathway and represents an interesting target for drug development in this space.
Species Reactivity
Species reactivity is determined by testing in at least one approved application (e.g., western blot).
Western Blot Buffer
IMPORTANT: For western blots, incubate membrane with diluted primary antibody in 5% w/v BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween® 20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight.

Revision 4

Immunoprecipitation of UBXN7 protein from KYSE-70 cell extracts. Lane 1 is 10% input, lane 2 is Rabbit (DA1E) mAb IgG XP® Isotype Control #3900, and lane 3 is UBXN7 (F9Y9M) Rabbit mAb. Western blot analysis was performed using UBXN7 (F9Y9M) Rabbit mAb. Mouse Anti-rabbit IgG (Conformation Specific) (L27A9) mAb (HRP Conjugate) #5127 was used as a secondary antibody.
