Specificity/Sensitivity
Evi-1 (C50E12) Rabbit mAb detects the endogenous levels of total Evi-1 protein.
Source / Purification
Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Asp57 of human Evi-1 protein.
Background
Evi-1 (Ecotropic virus integration site 1) was originally identified as a common site of viral integration in murine myeloid leukemia. It is involved in human myeloid disorders through chromosome translocation and inversion (1) and is also implicated in solid tumor formation (2). Evi-1 is a zinc finger transcription factor which also plays an important role in animal development (3). It has many isoforms due to alternative usage of 5'-ends (4), alternative splicing (5), and intergenic splicing which results in the formation of a fusion protein with MDS1 in normal tissues (6).

Species Reactivity
Species reactivity is determined by testing in at least one approved application (e.g., western blot).
Western Blot Buffer
IMPORTANT: For western blots, incubate membrane with diluted primary antibody in 5% w/v BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween® 20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight.

Revision 4
Western blot analysis of extracts from various cell lines using Evi-1 (C50E12) Rabbit mAb. MDS/Evi-1 denotes the fusion between MDS1 and Evi-1 (see reference #6) and Evi-1 Δ denotes the truncated form of Evi-1 (see reference #5).
Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of SK-OV-3 (left) and DLD-1 cells (right) using Evi-1 (C50E12) Rabbit mAb (green). Actin filaments have been labeled with DY-554 phalloidin (red).
Flow cytometric analysis of Jurkat cells (blue) and K562 cells (green) using Evi-1 (C50E12) Rabbit mAb (solid lines) or a concentration-matched Rabbit (DA1E) mAb IgG XP® Isotype Control #3900 (dashed lines). Anti-rabbit IgG (H+L), F(ab')2 Fragment (Alexa Fluor® 488 Conjugate) #4412 was used as a secondary antibody.
