    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

CDCA5 (E7M3N) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total CDCA5 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Phe247 of human CDCA5 protein.

    Background

Cohesin is a ring-shaped multiprotein complex that functions in sister chromatid cohesion and in establishing higher order chromosome structure. The cohesin complex regulates chromosome segregation, DNA repair, and transcription (1,2).
CDCA5 (also known as Sororin) stabilizes the cohesin complex on DNA through inhibition of the cohesion antagonist WAPL (3). CDCA5 promotes cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis through the AKT signaling pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells (4). Overexpression of CDCA5 indicates poor prognosis in HCC (5-7).
