    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly304 of human DIMT1 protein.

    Background

Dimethyladenosine transferase 1 (DIMT1), also known as DIMT1L, is a methyltransferase responsible for the dimethylation of adenosines on the 18S rRNA subunit. Binding of DIMT1 to the pre-rRNA is required for proper processing of the 18S subunit (1). Independent of its catalytic activity, DIMT1 seems to function as a scaffold protein that is essential for the assembly of the 40S rRNA subunit (2). DIMT1 also has been shown to have higher expression in certain cancer types, including multiple myeloma and gastric cancer (3,4).
