Mouse Reactive Senescence Associated Secretory Phenotype (SASP) Antibody Sampler Kit #85741

    Product Information

    Product Description

The Mouse Reactive Senescence Associated Secretory Phenotype (SASP) Antibody Sampler Kit provides an economical means of detecting multiple components of the SASP in mouse samples. The kit includes enough antibodies to perform two western blot experiments with each primary antibody.

    Specificity / Sensitivity

Each antibody in the Mouse Reactive Senescence Associated Secretory Phenotype (SASP) Antibody Sampler Kit detects endogenous levels of its target protein. RANTES Antibody (Rodent Specific) detects transfected levels of rodent RANTES.

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with recombinant human IL-1β protein, recombinant mouse TNF-α protein, recombinant mouse IL-6 protein, a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Cys75 of mouse MCP-1 protein, or a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro117 of human MMP-2 protein. Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues at the carboxyl terminus of rodent RANTES protein or corresponding to residues surrounding Gly196 of murine PAI-1 protein. Polyclonal antibodies are purified by peptide affinity chromatography.

    Background

Senescence is characterized by stable stress-induced proliferative arrest and resistance to mitogenic stimuli, as well as the secretion of proteins such as cytokines, growth factors, and proteases. These secreted proteins comprise the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). Senescent cells are thought to accumulate as an organism ages, and contribute to age-related diseases, including cancer, through promotion of inflammation and disruption of normal cellular function (1,2). The composition of the SASP varies, and SASP components can be either beneficial or deleterious in human disease, depending on the context (3).
The Mouse Reactive Senescence Associated Secretory Phenotype (SASP) Antibody Sampler Kit provides a collection of antibodies to various SASP components, including TNF-α, interleukin-6 (IL-6), the multifunctional cytokine IL-1β, the chemokines RANTES/CCL5 and MCP-1, the matrix metalloprotease MMP-2, and the serine-protease inhibitor PAI-1.
