    Product Information

    Product Description

This Cell Signaling Technology® antibody is conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 647 fluorescent dye under optimal conditions. This antibody conjugate is expected to exhibit the same species cross-reactivity as the unconjugated α-Synuclein (E4U2F) XP® Rabbit mAb #51510.

    Product Usage Information

    Application Dilution
    Immunofluorescence (Frozen) 1:200

    Storage

Supplied in PBS (pH 7.2), less than 0.1% sodium azide, and 2 mg/mL BSA. Store at 4°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protect from light. Do not freeze.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

α-Synuclein (E4U2F) XP® Rabbit mAb (Alexa Fluor® 647 Conjugate) recognizes endogenous levels of total α-Synuclein protein. This antibody does not cross-react with β-Synuclein. Weak nuclear staining of uncertain specificity was observed in limited ovarian tumors by immunohistochemistry.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human α-Synuclein protein.

    Background

α-Synuclein is a protein of 140-amino acids expressed abundantly in the brain. α-Synuclein is also the main component of pathogenic Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites. Research studies have shown that mutations of the α-Synuclein gene are linked to Parkinson's disease (1).
