    Product Information

    Product Description

This Cell Signaling Technology antibody is conjugated to phycoerythrin (PE) and tested in-house for direct flow cytometric analysis in human cells. The antibody is expected to exhibit the same species cross-reactivity as the unconjugated V5-Tag (E9H8O) Mouse mAb #80076.

    Product Usage Information

    Application Dilution
    Flow Cytometry (Fixed/Permeabilized) 1:50

    Storage

Supplied in PBS (pH 7.2), less than 0.1% sodium azide and 2 mg/ml BSA. Store at 4°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protect from light. Do not freeze.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

V5-Tag (E9H8O) Mouse mAb (PE Conjugate) recognizes transfected levels of recombinant protein containing the V5 epitope tag. This antibody also recognizes a non-specific band of unknown origin at 21 kDa.

    Species Reactivity:

    All Species Expected

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic V5-tag peptide.

    Background

Epitope tags are useful for the labeling and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunostaining techniques. Because of their small size, they are unlikely to affect the tagged protein’s biochemical properties.

The V5-tag is a 14 amino acid peptide derived from a small epitope (Pk) on the P and V proteins of simian virus 5 (SV5), a member of the paramyxovirus family (1). The V5-tag can be used to detect expression of recombinant proteins in bacteria, yeast, insects, and mammalian cell systems.
