    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

Anillin (E9L6E) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total anillin protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala221 of human anillin protein.

    Background

Anillin/ANLN is an actin-binding protein with roles in cytokinesis and cell migration (1). Anillin is highly expressed in human cancer and is a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target (2). In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), anillin expression is correlated with poor prognosis, and anillin deficiency induces multinucleated cells, apoptosis, and DNA damage checkpoints (3). Anillin knockdown in HCC leads to cell growth inhibition through impairment of cytokinesis (4). Anillin expression is negatively regulated by DNA damage in a p53-dependent manner (5).
