    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

ARHGAP29 (F6O5B) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total ARHGAP29 protein. By western blot, this antibody detects a band of unknown origin at approximately 10 kDa.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly561 of human ARHGAP29 protein.

    Background

Rho GTPase-activating protein 29 (ARHGAP29), also known as PARG1, suppresses Rho family GTPase signaling by promoting GTP hydrolysis and the inactive (GDP-bound) state. Transcription of ARHGAP29 is positively regulated by Yes-associated protein (YAP), destabilizing the actin cytoskeleton and promoting cell migration (1). Upregulated expression of ARHGAP29 is associated with invasion and proliferation in human prostate, breast, and kidney cancer cells, and may serve as a prognostic indicator in several human cancers (1-4). Mutation of the ARHGAP29 gene is associated with nonsyndromic cleft lip and/or palate (NSCL/P) in humans (5,6).
