    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

CDK2AP1 (E9D7P) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total CDK2AP1 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro12 of human CDK2AP1 protein.

    Background

Cyclin-dependent kinase 2-associated protein 1 (CDK2AP1) was first identified as a tumor suppressor in oral cancer and is a member of the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylase (NuRD) complex (1-4). Also known as p12 or DOC-1, CDK2AP1 binds to unphosphorylated CDK2 and DNA polymerase alpha/primase to negatively regulate their activities (5,6). CDK2AP1 also plays a role in the silencing of Oct-4 during stem cell differentiation (7). Low CDK2AP1 expression in oral cancers is associated with poor prognosis (8). Lower expression has also shown to be resistant to cisplatin treatment (9). In addition to oral cancers, CDK2AP1 plays a role in other tumor types, including colorectal, testicular, and ovarian cancers (10,11).
