    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human CXCL6 protein.

    Background

C-X-C motif chemokine 6 (CXCL6) is a secreted molecule that belongs to the C-X-C family of chemokines. Research studies have demonstrated that CXCL6 signals through two membrane receptors, CXCR1 and CXCR2, and plays a role in the inflammatory response through its ability to serve as a chemoattractant and activator for neutrophils (1-3). In addition to regulation of the innate immune response via neutrophils, research studies have demonstrated that CXCL6 displays antibacterial properties through disruption of bacteria membrane integrity (3).
