    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

DPEP-1/MDP (E5H7T) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total mouse DPEP-1/MDP protein. This antibody does not cross-react with human DPEP-1/MDP protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Mouse

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Lys60 of mouse DPEP-1/MDP protein.

    Background

Dipeptidase-1 (DPEP-1, RDP, MDP) is a GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed in the epithelial brush border of the kidney epithelium and exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer (1). Research studies have shown that the enzymatic activity of DPEP-1 is involved in kidney metabolism of glutathione, leukotrienes, and β-lactam antibiotics (2,3). Independent of its enzymatic activity, DPEP-1 has been implicated in pathologic inflammation by acting as an adhesion receptor for neutrophils on endothelial cells within the lung (4). DPEP-1 has also been implicated in human cancer and numerous studies have demonstrated that expression of this enzyme is upregulated in colorectal cancer and promotes metastasis (5-7).
