    Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro170 of human FcγRIIA protein.

    Background

    FcγRIIA (CD32A) is a low affinity, IgG Fc-binding receptor belonging to the immunoglobulin receptor superfamily (1-3). In humans, it is expressed on myeloid cells, dendritic cells, and platelets (2-4). FcγRIIA is an activating-type Fc receptor, and signals through an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM) present on its own IgG binding chain (2-4). ITAM signaling is essential for FcγRIIA-dependent phagocytosis and the induction of cytokine secretion (3). In addition to binding to IgG, FcγRI and FcγRII also bind to pentraxin proteins of the innate immune system (5).
