    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

FITM2 (E5O8W) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total FITM2 protein. This antibody detects a 60 kDa band of unknown origin in some cell lines.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gln135 of human FITM2 protein.

    Background

FITM2 (FIT2, C20orf142, acyl-coenzyme A diphosphatase FITM2, fat storage-inducing transmembrane protein 2) is a member of the FIT family of proteins that localize to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane (1-6). FITM2 is highly expressed by adipocytes and is essential for ER lipid metabolism and lipid droplet formation (1-6). FITM2 maintains ER homeostasis by hydrolyzing fatty acyl–CoA to acyl 4′-phosphopantetheine (6).
