    Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly111 of human GILT protein.

    Background

    Gamma-interferon-inducible lysosomal thiol reductase (GILT) is synthesized as a precursor glycoprotein, which is proteolytically processed intracellularly into a mature lysosomal thiol oxidoreductase. Research studies have shown that GILT participates in protein thiol reduction within the endosomal pathway and may contribute to shaping the repertoire of epitopes that undergo MHC class II-dependent presentation (1-3). Additional studies have demonstrated that GILT serves as a restriction factor for multiple RNA-based viruses by inhibiting viral entry (4). Given the role of antigen presentation in facilitating an anti-tumor immune response, research studies have suggested that elevated GILT expression in multiple types of human cancers serves as a biomarker for improved survival and response to immune checkpoint blockade (5-8).
