    Specificity / Sensitivity

METTL1 (E4Z5X) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total METTL1 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala55 of human METTL1 protein.

    Background

METTL1 is a conserved methyltransferase that forms a complex with WDR4 to catalyze 7-methylguanosine (m7G) on mRNA, tRNA, and miRNAs (1,2). Both METTL1 and WDR4 are required for m7G modification, with METTL1 being the catalytic component and WDR4 stabilizing the complex (2). m7G on mRNA is required for translation and stem cell differentiation, while m7G on miRNA can regulate structure and biogenesis (3,4). METTL1 is phosphorylated by PKB and RSK, which results in its inactivation (5). Overexpression of METTL1 has been shown to be oncogenic and contribute to poor prognosis in various tumor types (6-8).
