Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

NLRP2 (F3C9H) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total NLRP2 protein. This antibody cross-reacts with a 60 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lysates.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gln679 of human NLRP2 protein.

    Background

NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 2 (NLRP2) is a member of the NLR family, which is composed of proteins that can form inflammasomes and/or act as sensors that drive inflammation and cell death (1,2). They accomplish this by promoting maturation of downstream targets, such as caspase-1, IL-1b, IL-18, IL-37, and gasdermin D (3). NLRP2 has been shown to interact with apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC), and its expression is induced in mouse dorsal root ganglia following treatment with complete Freund's adjuvant, which causes inflammation and pain (4,5). NLRP2 is also essential for embryonic development in mice, with depletion leading to early arrest (6).
