    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

POU2F2 (F3B7M) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total POU2F2 protein. This antibody is predicted to detect multiple human and mouse POU2F2 isoforms.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human POU2F2 protein.

    Background

POU2F2 (POU domain, class 2, transcription factor 2, OCT2) is a transcription factor in the POU protein family (1-3). POU proteins contain two subunits: an N-terminal POU-specific domain and a C-terminal homeobox domain (1-3). Due to alternate splicing, POU2F2 has five human isoforms and seven mouse isoforms (3). POU2F2 is normally expressed in B cells and B cell lineage tumor cells, and is involved in B cell proliferation and differentiation by binding to immunoglobulin gene promoters (2-4). POU2F2 has also been shown to have a tumor-promoting role in some cancers, as well as potentially promoting oncogene-induced senescence (OIS) escape in early cancer progression (5,6).
