    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly243 of human PP6C protein.

    Background

Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 6 (PP6) is an evolutionarily conserved and ubiquitously expressed member of the type 2A protein phosphatase family. Research studies have proposed that PP6 functions as a heterotrimeric holoenzyme complex that consists of a catalytic subunit, PP6C, and regulatory subunits (1,2). PP6 has been implicated in the regulation of numerous biological processes, such as cell-cycle progression, cell growth, and antiviral innate immune signaling (3). Indeed, research studies have demonstrated that PP6C dephosphorylates and activates Rig-I in order to facilitate type I interferon (IFN) signaling and antiviral immunity (4).
