Protocol

Specificity / Sensitivity

PRPF4 (F9Z1U) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total PRPF4 protein.

Species Reactivity:

Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey

Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala278 of human PRPF4 protein.

Background

PRPF4 is a U4/U6 snRNP-associated WD repeat-containing protein that is a critical regulator of the splicing process (1-3). PRPF4, PRPF3, and PPIH form a stable complex essential for proper formation and function of the U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP (3,4). PRPF4 associates with kinetochores and can affect mitosis checkpoint control through MPS1, MAD1, and MAD2 (5). PRPF4 also has been shown to play a role in pluripotency and stem cell differentiation (6). Mutations in PRPF4 cause autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa (7,8). Furthermore, knockdown of PRPF4 has been shown to reduce colony formation and cell growth in breast cancer cells (9).
