    Storage

Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

SCAMP4 (E8Y6Z) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total SCAMP4 protein. Based on observed molecular weight and the sequence of the peptide antigen, this antibody is not expected to cross-react with other SCAMP family members. By western blot, this antibody recognizes a background band of unknown origin at approximately 120 kDa.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro30 of human SCAMP4 protein.

    Background

Secretory carrier membrane proteins (SCAMPs) are a family of conserved integral membrane proteins localized to membranes of the cell-surface recycling system, including secretory organelles and endosomes. SCAMP1, SCAMP2, SCAMP3, and SCAMP4 are ubiquitously expressed, whereas SCAMP5 exhibits primarily neural expression (1,2).
SCAMP4 protein is enriched on the surface of senescent cells, and its expression regulates the secretion of SASP (senescence-associated secretory phenotype) factors, including interleukin 6 (IL6), IL7, IL8, growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15), and C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CXCL1) (3).
