    Product Information

    Product Usage Information

For optimal ChIP results, use 2.5 μL of antibody and 10 μg of chromatin (approximately 4 × 106 cells) per IP. This antibody has been validated using SimpleChIP® Enzymatic Chromatin IP Kits.
    Application Dilution
    Chromatin IP 1:200

    Storage

Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

SOX5 (E8S4A) Rabbit mAb detects endogenous levels of SOX5 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to the carboxy terminus of human SOX5 protein.

    Background

SOX5 is a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors. It is involved in the regulation of embryonic development, and specifically essential for driving chondrogenesis (1). In recent years, it has become apparent that SOX5 plays a significant role in the progression of various tumor types, such as breast cancer, glioma, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, and others (2-5). Upregulation of SOX5 in these tumor types has been reported to drive metastasis through activation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) (2-5).
