    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

TRDC/TCRδ (E2E9T) XP® Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total TRDC/TCRδ protein. This antibody does not cross-react with human TRAC/TCRα constant, TRBC1/TCRβ constant region 1, TRBC2/TCRβ constant region 2, or TRGC1/TCRγ constant region 1.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with human TRDC/TCRδ recombinant protein.

    Background

The γδ T Cell Receptor (TCR) is a heterodimer composed of a gamma chain and a delta chain expressed on the surface of T cells which participates in antigen recognition (1,2). Binding of gamma-delta TCR to antigen triggers phosphorylation of immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs) in CD3 chains of the antigen (3). Unlike αβ T cells, human γδ T cells recognize and kill transformed cells independently of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) restriction (3,4). γδ T lymphocytes develop largely in the thymus, generating their defining receptor via RAG-mediated rearrangement of a limited repertoire of variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) genes (3). In addition to the T cell receptor, γδ T cells usually also express activating natural killer (NK) receptors, which bind to stress-inducible surface molecules frequently expressed on malignant cells (4).
