Background
WDR82 is a core subunit specific to the SET1A and SET1B COMPASS-like complexes (4,5). WDR82 facilitates methylation of histone H3 lysine 4 during transcriptional activation by binding to Ser5-phosphorylated Rpb1 CTD and ubiquityl-H2B, and recruiting SET1A/SET1B complexes to the transcription start site of genes (7,8). WDR82 is also a component of the PTW/PP1 phosphatase complex that functions to regulate chromatin structure and cell cycle progression during the transition from mitosis to interphase (9).
